Join us for an unforgettable evening in Chicago featuring a special fundraising auction to support the completion of the documentary,
"Art Shay: An America So Real."
The event will also include an exclusive sneak preview of a work-in-progress excerpt from the film. The full release of the film is scheduled for fall 2026.
The evening’s highlights will include an exhibition and silent auction of rare signed photographs by Shay, as well as film contributors Pete Souza, Richard Shay and Sandro Miller to benefit the completion of the film. There will be brief introduction by Mary Wisniewski, author of “Algren.”
The filmmakers will be in attendance to screen a special sneak preview, work-in-progress cut of the film, followed by a short Q&A.
The feature-length documentary introduces audiences to the extraordinary life and work of one of the most important photographers of the 20th century.
Directed by Ken Hanson and Jack Davidson and edited by Dave Myszewski.
